Nevada

The state of Nevada is situated between California, Utah, Arizona, Idaho and Oregon. It is the 7th largest state in the USA and the 35th most populous. Over 2/3rds of the population live in Las Vegas. The capital is Carson City.

The name, Nevada, means “snow-capped” in spanish and has over 400 mountain ranges, the most in any state. It is also the 2nd most seismically active, with Alaska being number one. Nevada is also still very active in the mining of gold and silver and is called “the silver state” for this reason. The state bird is the mountain bluebird.
